Doctor Who loves spooky. Throughout almost 65 years on British television, tension and suspense has been a staple of the show. The fourth episode of Series 10 is very much cut from that cloth, and is a superb triumph of tension and horror.

The Tenth Series of Doctor Who is certainly picking up a good head of steam as the partnership of Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie continues to develop and impress. It was such a good episode that it is a shame to say “But …” – but there is a rather massive objection in this episode, and I shall hit it square on the jaw.

If last week’s review was less than complimentary of the new season of Doctor Who, the second episode has more than reassured me, with a thoroughly good return to form. Smile is a story that could feature any other Doctor in any other season.

Given that Doctor Who has been off our TV screens since December 2015 (two Christmas specials notwithstanding), it was strange that I approached the first episode of the brand new series with trepidation mixed in with my excitement.

British funk and acid jazz group Jamiroquai are finally getting ready to launch their long-awaited 8th studio album Automaton later this month (31 Mar) and I, for one, couldn’t be more excited.

DC Comics kicked off their new Justice League of America series several days ago with Issue 1 and it was, by all accounts, very good. Now it may sound obvious that the new series “kicked off…with Issue 1” but – as often happens with new comic series’ – there were a few prelude issues and the series itself (as DC puts it) came “spinning out of pages of Justice League vs Suicide Squad!”
